Redcar Racecourse, on the north-east coast of England, is a venue for a high standard of flat racing throughout the summer.
The left-handed track is in the shape of a long, narrow oval of one mile and six furlongs, with surprisingly sharp bends at each end. There is also a one-mile straight. The ground drains well and the course is flat, making Redcar races a fair test for the decent-sized fields attracted to the track.
Redcar Racecourse stages three notable races each year. The first is the Zetland Gold Cup in May, which always draws a competitive field for the test over one mile and two furlongs.
The course’s October meeting stages two listed events, the Two-Year-Old Trophy over six furlongs and the Gainsborough Stakes over seven.

Redcar races are currently being run behind closed doors because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
This is set to be reviewed and updated in line with government advice, with Redcar Racecourse keen to welcome back punters as soon as it is safe to do so.
It’s still worth checking Redcar races fixtures because the decision to allow spectators in could change. If you book tickets to a Redcar Racecourse event that is then moved to behind closed doors, refunds will be processed through the official course website.
