Cork Racecourse is a right-handed and relatively even horse racing venue outside the town of Mallow in County Cork. Used for both Irish flat and National Hunt events over jumps, it lies east of Killarney and southwest of Tipperary, making it one of the southernmost tracks in the Emerald Isle.
As well as a straight of seven furlongs for flat races, the round course makes a circuit of about a mile-and-a-quarter. Despite being a fair and level track, it is best suited by strong galloping horses.
There are both black type and Graded events held here. The most famous of Cork races are the Group 3 Munster Oaks for fillies and mares over a mile-and-a-half in summer and the Grade 2 Hilly Way Chase for two-mile steeplechasers in winter.

Cork races are currently being run behind closed doors because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation. This is set to be reviewed and updated in line with government advice, with Cork Racecourse keen to welcome back punters as soon as it is safe to do so.
It’s still worth checking Cork races fixtures because the decision to allow spectators in could change. If you book tickets to a Cork Racecourse event that is then moved to behind closed doors, refunds will be processed through the official course website.
