Ludlow Racecourse is a right-handed, oval-shaped British horse racing venue in Shropshire.
Hosting only National Hunt events, there are no major races at this track but jumps trainers still send horses to compete on it. Ludlow races are notable in that the hurdles course is longer than its steeplechase counterpart.
Horses tackling fences face a relatively flat track on the inside with sharp bends, so the ability to corner well is essential.
When it comes to hurdles, meanwhile, it's a full, undulating lap of about a mile-and-a-half for Ludlow race runners to navigate. There is also a cross hurdle to be jumped after the winning post before going into the back straight.

The home straight of Ludlow Racecourse is the only part of the chase and hurdle track that share the same line. You’re in the middle of a golf course so the real danger is being hit by a golf ball! Look out for horses just behind the leaders because they can come into play on this track.
Jumping is a stiff task as it’s slightly downhill and they come quite quickly. The carpet that covers where the road crosses the track can also unbalance a horse, so you have to hold him together and keep him true at that point, just in case.
