Dundalk Racecourse is a left-handed, all-weather Irish horse racing venue north of the town of Dundalk in County Louth. The Polytrack surface is used for flat racing events only, all year round.
It is a tight course with a full circuit being a mile-and-a-quarter, so all races (even sprints) are run around bends. Dundalk racing used to take place on turf but the National Hunt track closed in 2001 and reopened after being converted to the all-weather in 2007.
There are two Group 3 events held at this venue, the extended mile-and-a-quarter Diamond Stakes and the Mercury Stakes – a sprint over five furlongs.

Dundalk races are currently being run behind closed doors because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation. This is set to be reviewed and updated in line with government advice, with Dundalk Racecourse keen to welcome back punters as soon as it is safe to do so.
It’s still worth checking Dundalk races fixtures because the decision to allow spectators in could change. If you book tickets to a Dundalk Racecourse event that is then moved to behind closed doors, refunds will be processed through the official course website.
