Catterick Racecourse, located in the North Yorkshire hamlet of Catterick Bridge near Richmond, is a small yet very busy little racecourse, hosting Flat races as well as National Hunt events. It sports a ten furlong jumping circuit, and a nine furlong course for Flat races. However, Catterick does not only host horse racing events. The racecourse is also home of the largest Sunday market in the North of England, the Catterick Sunday Market.

Horse Racing at Catterick Bridge started, officially, on 22nd April 1783, when a provisory racecourse was opened at today's location. Although it wasn't until 1813 that a permanent, fixed race track was put into place, race meetings were staged regardless of the conditions. Throughout the 1800s Catterick Bridge became an increasingly popular racing venue, which justified the investment in a grandstand in 1906, to make the racecourse a little more official and allow more spectators to attend.
Today the racecourse still has much of its original framework, which gives it a historical charm. However, it does sport all the mod-cons the modern race goer expects when coming out for a day of racing. Whether Flat or National Hunt, Catterick Racecourse continues to please the masses to this day.
With about 27 fixtures each year, Catterick Racecourse is one of the busier courses in Yorkshire. The main events of the season include:
