Leopardstown Racecourse is a left-handed Irish horse racing venue used for National Hunt events over jumps and the flat. Situated just six miles outside Dublin city centre, it is one of the busiest tracks in the Emerald Isle with both Group and Grade 1 races, including the Irish Champion Hurdle and Irish Gold Cup.
Over jumps, the four-day Christmas Festival and two-day Dublin Racing Festival in early February are major meetings. On the flat, Leopardstown races reach their height in September when it is home to the first day of Irish Champions Weekend, including the Irish Champion Stakes over a mile-and-a-quarter.
Although a flat track, strong galloping horses are suited best by Leopardstown horse racing events and a complete circuit is about a mile-and-three-quarters with a run-in of three furlongs.

Leopardstown races are currently being run behind closed doors because of the ongoing COVID-19 situation. This is set to be reviewed and updated in line with government advice, with Leopardstown Racecourse keen to welcome back punters as soon as it is safe to do so.
It’s still worth checking Leopardstown races fixtures because the decision to allow spectators in could change. If you book tickets to a Leopardstown Racecourse event that is then moved to behind closed doors, refunds will be processed through the official course website.
