Market Rasen Racecourse is typical of the friendly local jump racing tracks that exist across the UK.
At only one mile and two furlongs, it is a small, right-handed circuit with some undulations and fences that represent a fair test of a jumper.
Although there is racing all year round at Market Rasen, the Lincolnshire track has become particularly popular for its summer racing days.
The Summer Hurdle and the Summer Plate are run in July and are two of the most prestigious summer races staged in Britain. They attract runners from leading yards and healthy crowds lured by the opportunity to mix a sunny day out with quality jump racing.

Market Rasen Racecourse is quite a deceiving track and requires a lot of stamina. It's sharp, right-handed and with a very subtle hill to it coming up to the home straight. Even though it looks sharp it actually takes a lot of stamina. Jumping down the back straight for chases it is quite quick, it slightly deepens downhill and then flattens out. You can get all sorts of ground there, from good to soft.
