National Hunt Racecourses
Nothing could be further from our minds than disrespecting the great British Flat racing tradition, but you can't argue that the action - the heart-stopping, nail-biting, hair-tearing action - is to be found at the National Hunt meetings. With the speed and strength of the flat racing and the added bonus of gruelling obstacles thrown into the mix, the National Hunt events are not for the fainthearted. So if you're already a fan of the Flats, check out the Jumps.
Although there are few racecourses that host exclusively National Hunt races, each National Hunt race track is respected and renowned for its individual features. The feared fences of Aintree, the hurdles of shame at Cheltenham, or the doomed ditches of Doncaster - all of them are equally dangerous, infamous and spectacular. Check here for the best addresses to have your toes curled by equine action that just knows no match.
