A capacity of 67,500 spectators may attend the Racecourse at any one time, and there is a massive auditoria, known as The Centaur, that is able to accommodate 2,000 seated patrons, or 4,000 standing patrons.

The defining feature of Cheltenham Racecourse is its two separate courses that have been built next to one another. The Old Course is no longer used for the most popular events, with the New Course allowing for longer steeplechase runs, and a unique setup for hurdle races.
