Racing Industry Contributes £230 Million To Yorkshire Economy
It has been found that the horse racing industry alone contributes close to £230 million each year into the Yorkshire and Humberside economy.
This figure has been reached by a study at the Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research at Shefield Hallam University.
Andrew Denton, who works for the county’s tourist board Welcome to Yorkshire, says the study showed how valuable the racing industry is for the local economy.
