Nothing eases you over the Wednesday hump like some selected horse racing fixtures and a solid horse betting special – and we have found both for you!

Nothing eases you over the Wednesday hump like some selected horse racing fixtures and a solid horse betting special – and we have found both for you! Both our selected Wednesday races are part of the Bet365 4-1 promotion, just to sweeten the deal a little more.

For those of you who do not know how the Bet365 4-1 promotion works let us explain:
Every day Bet365 selects two horse racing fixtures of the day’s race cards to be part of their permanent 4-1 promotion. All you need to do is bet on one of these fixtures and cross your fingers. If your selection wins the race at odds of 4-1 or longer, you will receive a free bet matching your original stake on the next selected race, whether it is on the same day or on the next.
However, this is not where the promotion ends. If your selection on the free bet wins the next race at odds of 4-1 or longer, you will win another free bet of equal stake. With Bet365’s 4-1 promotion you can keep betting for free as long as your selections keep winning, no matter how long your luck lasts.

Today’s selected races are:

Nottinghamracecourse.com Handicap – 4.10pm – Nottingham Racecourse

This endurance event over one mile, two furlongs and 50 yards will see eleven runners over the age of three go head to head in this serious challenge.

The favourite for the Handicap is Captain Dancer, trained by Barry Hills. The four-year-old won his last race start in the Frank Fitzgerald Handicap at Haydock, a race only marginally shorter than this afternoon’s event at Nottingham. Captain Dancer will be running under his regular jockey, Michael Hills, and is currently priced 4-1 by Bet365 and 11-2 by Betfair.

Gritstone, from the stables of Richard Fahey, is considered another strong contender in this afternoon’s field. The gelding has only won one of his ten career starts but has been showing good form in training and on the track, scoring two narrow fourth places in his last two career starts. Gritstone is priced 4-1 by both Bet365 and Betfair and will be taking to the track under regular jockey Paul Hanagan.

For the full line-up and odds, check out Bet365 or Betfair.

Digibet Nursery – 8.00pm – Kempton Park Racecourse

This event is a great chance to check out talented two-year-old colts and fillies for next season, as they battle it out over one clean mile.

Jaaryah, trained by Mark Jarvis, is only starting as a professional for the second time this afternoon. However, although she does not bring the experience, the filly does bring the talent. In her debut race Jaaryah destroyed her competition in the European Breeders’ Fund Maiden Fillies Stakes at Kempton on June 30th and has since been training and getting to top form. Jaaryah is priced 6-4 byBet365 and 7-5 by Betfair.

Second favourite Buckland, trained by Barry Meehan, is still chasing his first career victory. In his three career starts thus far, the colt has recorded one second place and two third places – but the win remains elusive. However, Buckland has been showing great form throughout his career and Meehan is convinced it is about time he broke his dry spell. Buckland is priced 7-1 by Bet365 and 15-2 by Betfair.

If you would like to have a flutter on one of our selected races, check out Bet365 or Betfair for excellent odds and convenient online betting around the clock. Horse Racing UK wishes you a successful day at the track.

Trying to beat the Monday Blues? Check out today’s greatest horse racing fixtures and compare the odds...

Trying to beat the Monday Blues? Check out today’s greatest horse racing fixtures and compare the odds to make sure you get the best deal out of your Monday morning bets. Our two selected feature races of the day are part of Bet365’s 4-1 Promotion, but online bookmaker Betfair also offers great odds on these two horse racing fixtures.

If you haven’t heard of the Bet365 4-1 Promotion yet, don’t worry, it’s simple. Two horse racing fixtures are selected daily as part of this special offer. You bet on one of the races and receive a free bet matching your original stake if your selection wins at odds of 4-1 or longer. But that is not the end of it! If your selection on the free bet wins the next selected race at odds of 4-1 or longer you will receive another free bet matching your original stake on the next selected race. This way the Bet365 Promotion could keep you betting gratis for days. However, don’t make your decision before you have compared the odds offered by Bet365 with those available at Betfair.

Harry Spooner 100th Birthday Handicap – 3.20pm – Leicester Racecourse

This Class3 Handicap for runners over the age of three is sure to get your heart rate going, especially if you are getting your piece of the action by placing a stake.
La Fortunata, trained at the Murphy stables and to be ridden by Andrea Atzini, is one of the favourites for the event, priced at 11-2 by Bet365 and 8-1 by Betfair. The three-year-old filly has been putting in some great performances since starting her training with Murphy this year; collecting four second places and two wins in the past three months.

The filly will be competing with Piscean, a rather experienced, US-bred five year old gelding. Piscean has started in 43 career races, racking up five victories, and three second and third places respectively. The gelding will be ridden by Steve Donohoe and his connections are confident he will bring the thunder.
For a full list of runners and odds, check out Bet365 or Betfair for 24/7 online betting convenience.

Computing.co.uk Handicap – 5.00pm – Kempton Park Racecourse

This one mile Class4 showdown features 14 exciting runners aged three and older, is one of the highlights running at Kempton Park today.

My Best Bet, the winner of the Midland Facilities Apprentice Handicap on 3rd September, has been training with Stef Higgins since November 2009. The four-year-old filly has already competed in 36 professional races and has placed 20 times thus far, an impressive record for My Best Bet. The filly will be starting under Tom Queally, who has successfully ridden My Best Bet several times before.

Interestingly My Best Bet’s hotted competitor is only starting in her third career race. Eolith, trained by William Knight and ridden by regular jockey Jim Crowley, remains unbeaten after her first two professional races. Her connections are hoping she will be able to continue her winning streak in this afternoon’s Handicap at Kempton.

If you would like to place a bet on either of these races, check out Bet365 and Betfair for the greatest odds online and online betting convenience around the clock.
As horse race organisers want to make the most of the summer, August is going to be a straight month of paradise for horse racing fans across the country...

As horse race organisers want to make the most of the summer, August is going to be a straight month of paradise for horse racing fans across the country. Racecourses all over the United Kingdom are offering a wide range of horse racing fixtures; in fact, live races will be hosted throughout the UK literally every day throughout the month of August – a true treat for punters and spectators who are looking to capitalise on the last weeks of great outdoor weather.

Racecourses in the South – especially Kempton Park, Goodwood, Lingfield Park and Sandown Park – are hosting what can only be described as a horse racing marathon. Most days feature race meetings in two separate locations, with meetings ranging from noon time racing to the running of evening fixtures.

In the Midlands most of the August horse racing action will be taking place at Newmarket and Yarmouth. Racecourses in the Midlands area are also placing a heavy emphasis on the first national hunt fixtures of the season. Stratford-On-Avon, Worcester, Southwell, Market Rasen, Hereford, Bangor-On-Dee and Huntingdon are all hosting one or more jump race meetings during the month of August.

However, if you are looking for a big flat racing festival in August, York Racecourse in the North of England is the place to be. The Yorkshire Ebor Festival runs from 17th to 20th of August 2010 and features world class horse racing fixtures like the International Stakes, the Ebor Handicap, the Nunthorpe Stakes and the Yorkshire Oaks. The Yorkshire Ebor Festival is the biggest horse racing event hosted in the United Kingdom in August and tickets are already on sale.

The 2009 King George VI Chase will be run on 26 December, and William Hill has begun offering antepost odds.

Unsurprisingly, Kauto Star is the favorite at odds of 8/13. The gelding won this race the last 3 times it has been held, and this year he looks to tie for the record of most wins in the King George VI Chase and a new record of 4 successive wins. Winner of the 2009 Cheltenham Gold Cup, Kauto Star is in top form to take another King George Chase.

Imperial Commander is next in the odds at William Hill, at 6/1. With a close loss to Kauto Star in the Betfair Stakes, it seems that Imperial Commander will have to expect second place at best, though a win in the Paddy Power Gold Cup keeps some hope in a winning performance. Madison Du Berlais is also in with a chance and is getting odds of 8/1, but an awful run in the Cheltenham Gold Cup means few would risk the money.

Evan Williams is looking forward to the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day after an impressive performance from his horse Deep Purple. Though he has not confirmed whether or not the eight-year-old will line up to race in Kempton on Boxing Day, he was very optimistic about it.

Deep Purple put on an impressive performance in the Peterborough Chase with a 10lb penalty. He beat out a strong field of contenders that included past winners at the Cheltenham and Aintree Festivals. He also managed a win over race favourite Herecomesthetruth who suffered a big mistake in the last of the race to give up the win.

Of course, if Deep Purple does enter into King George, Williams has his eye firmly placed on Denman and Kauto Star (the current favourite at many sportsbooks) who pose the biggest threats in the upcoming race. In fact, both have handed Deep Purple brutal losses in the past. Williams had hoped to avoid Kauto Star in future competition, but will not let that deter him from the King George should Deep Purple be in shape for the race.

The racing gets underway at Kempton Park on the 26th of December as part of the William Hill Winter Festival.
