Farhh Out of 2013 Royal Ascot Festival

Godolphin superstar Farhh has been ruled out of the 2013 Royal Ascot Festival after being found lame on Saturday.

Farhh was one of the leading contenders for both the Queen Anne Stakes and Prince of Wales’s Stakes after his impressive victory in the Lockinge Stakes but his racing future is now in question.

The five-year-old will be unable to add to his Group 1 tally during the Royal Ascot Festival but Godolphin Racing Manager Simon Crisford said he is hopeful that Farhh’s racing career was not over.

“Unfortunately, Farhh is lame today and cannot run at Royal Ascot,” Crisford said.

“It is not possible to make plans for him at the moment but hopefully he will be back on the racecourse later this season.”

Farhh has had an extremely poor run with injuries and has made just nine appearances at the races since his debut in 2010.

The son of Pivotal has been a consistent performer in Group 1 races finishing third behind So You Think in the 2012 Prince of Wales’s Stakes; second behind Nathaniel in the Coral-Eclipse; runner-up to Frankel in both the Sussex Stakes and Juddmonte International before another second place finish in the Prix Du Moulin De Longchamp.

He finally broke his Group 1 duck when he defeated a strong field, including Declaration of War, in the 2013 Lockinge Stakes at Newbury last month.

The withdrawal of Farhh has left Animal Kingdom as the clear favourite in the 2013 Queen Anne Stakes betting market at Bet365 Bet365.

Animal Kingdom (4/5) is now the odds-on favourite for the opening race of the festival from Declaration of War (7/1), Elusive Kate (10/1) and Most Improved (10/1).

Al Kazeem is still on top of the 2013 Prince of Wales’s Stakes betting market from Camelot, Snow Fairy and Maxios.
