2013 Champion Hurdle Trail Betting Preview

This Monday racing fans will be treated to a rare feature event with four horses starting in the Listed 32Red Hurdle.

The event is a legitimate 2013 Champion Hurdle trail with reigning champion Rock on Ruby taking on the challengers to his throne Darlan, Countrywide Flame and Clerk’s Choice.

While it is only small field this should still be an intriguing race and is a vital lead-up run for all four horses on their way to the Cheltenham Festival.

Darlan (8/11) is the current favourite in the 2013 Champion Hurdle Trail betting market at Bet365 Bet365 followed by Rock on Ruby (2/1), Countrywide Flame (5/1) and Clerk’s Choice (33/1).

Our team of horse racing experts have analysed the form and the betting statistics to come up with our top selections for this race.

2013 Champion Hurdle Trail Betting Preview

– Darlan defeated Countrywide Flame by almost nine lengths in the Christmas Hurdle.

2013 Champion Hurdle Trial Trifecta Selection

Rock on Ruby (2/1) from Darlan (8/11) and Countrywide Flame (5/1)

Rock on Ruby and Darlan are extremely tough to split so Rock on Ruby represents the best betting value because of his good odds. The son of Oscar is the class horse in the field and will have improved after his first-up effort behind Zarkandar in the Grade 2 International Hurdle. Rock on Ruby is a good betting option in this race as well as ante-post Champion Hurdle betting markets.

Darlan has an opportunity to stamp himself as the clear favourite for the Champion Hurdle but at his current odds he doesn’t represent good value. However, the six-year-old is a supremely talented horse and will definitely give Rock on Ruby a tough race.

Countrywide Flame is a consistent horse but doesn’t have the class or quality off Rock on Ruby or Darlan.

You can find the best odds for the 2013 Champion Hurdle Trail and all other races on the Monday Doncaster card at Bet365 Bet365.
