Sprinter Sacre Records Another Easy Win

Sprinter Sacre has confirmed his reputation as the new equine superstar of jumps racing after scoring an easy victory in the Grade 1 Victor Chandler Chase at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The Nicky Henderson-trained gelding produced another flawless display to defeat the strong field by fourteen lengths.

The son of Network has now won his last seven starts and is an outright favorite in the Champion Chase betting market at Bet365 Bet365.

Henderson admitted to having extreme nerves before the race and was happy that Sprinter Sacre got the job done.

“Five minutes before the race I would have paid a million pounds to take Sprinter Sacre home,” Henderson said.

“I’m glad it’s over.

“I didn’t have any reservations about running but Barry Geraghty was worried about the ground and I thought he was a bit fresh.”

Geraghty said his mount had no trouble with the ground and praised the seven-year-old for another sensational effort.

“I never had a moment’s concern,” Geraghty said.

“He’s the most natural horse I’ve sat on, He’s all class.”

Another horse heading to the Cheltenham Festival is Hurricane Fly who won his third straight Irish Champion Hurdle to become outright favourite for the Cheltenham Champion Hurdle.

Jockey Charlie Swan was extremely impressed with the performance and believes the son of Montjeu can reclaim the Champion Hurdle title he won in 2011.

“Hurricane Fly won the way most people thought he would,” Swan said.

“He looked very good and seems back to his best.

“He’ll have a big chance of regaining the Champion Hurdle if in the same form.”

Trainer Willie Mullins was particularly impressed with Hurricane Fly’s acceleration in the concluding stages and is hopeful he can replicate the performance at the Cheltenham Festival.

“He was very impressive and is back to his very best,” Mullins said.

“Our job now is to have him in the same form in seven weeks’ time at Cheltenham.”

You can get the best odds for Sprinter Sacre and Hurricane Fly as well as every other horse running in the Cheltenham Festival at Bet365 Bet365.
