First of all we will look at the Group 3 Irish Daily Mail International Stakes at Curragh, starting at 7:30PM. This is a 1 mile 2 furlong race for 3 year olds and up, with €39,025 for the winner. Famous Name is the favourite, coming from a third place in a Group 1 as well as wins in a Group 3 and a Listed race. Jan Vermeer follows, but is likely only being picked for his experience in Group level races, not his success. Elusive Pimpernel is in a similar position, with lots of experience but few wins.

Next up is the Listed EBF ‘Kheleyf’ Hoppings Stakes at Newcastle, starting at 6:50PM. This is a 1 mile 2 furlong 32 yard run for 3 year old and up mares and fillies, with £17,031 for the winner. Principal Role is the favourite, coming off a third place finish in the Listed ITWCP Festival Stakes at the same length, a very close loss. Piano and Opera Gal follow close behind, but they haven’t much to recommend them over Principal Role.
