Horse racing today in the UK and Ireland on 29 May 2011 will see meets take place at Fontwell, Nottingham, Uttoxeter, Leopardstown and Downpatrick. Read on as we take a look at the biggest events.

The major racing today will take place at Leopardstown, and the biggest race is the Group 3 Ballycorus Stakes starting at 3:25PM. This is a 7 furlong run for 3 year olds and up, with a €37,375 prize for the winner. We like Imperial Rome and Zoffany for this race, but we don’t think Bewitched should be discounted and Seeharn could be good for a place.
Another big event for the day will be the Class 3 Fireman Sam Visits Twin Lakes – 2nd July Handicap at Nottingham. This race will start at 3:25PM and is a 5 furlong 13 yard sprint for 4 year olds and up, with £7,447 for the winner. Liberty Lady and Tagula Night are likely contenders, and we have some faith in Captain Carey and especially in Kanaf.
