The Ladbroke Hurdle 2010 Preview

The Ladbroke Hurdle 2010 is on this weekend as part of a race card at Ascot that will also be featuring the Grade 1 BGC Long Walk Hurdle. Bet365 has antepost odds up, so read on for our Ladbroke Hurdle preview.

The top of the Ladbroke Hurdle odds at Bet365 is Aegean Dawn at 9/2. So far undefeated in a 3-race hurdle career, Aegean Dawn’s last triumph was in the Canaccord Genuity Handicap at Ascot. This race will be a step up in competition for the 5-year-old gelding, his first Class 1 hurdle, but that should be no problem for him. Aegean Dawn has stepped up in competition in every race, and performs better every time.

Next in the odds at 7/1 are both Tocca Ferro and Mille Chief. Tocca Ferro is on a hot streak this season, with two wins in his last two races, including the Listed williamhill.com Handicap Hurdle at Ascot. Mille Chief finished second behind Aegean Dawn in his last race, but finished fifth in the toteplacepot Handicap Hurdle before that. We think that Tocca Ferro is the better pick by far at these odds.

Following at 8/1 is Oscar Whisky, who is coming back from a break. He finished last season with a fourth place finish in the Grade 1 Spinal Research Supreme Novices’ Hurdle and had a couple of hurdle victories before that in lesser races. We think that Oscar Whisky looks a terrific bet at these odds, and he looks a high likelihood to place at the very least.
