Victoire De Lyphar is an experienced three-year-old gelding with some serious track credit behind his name. After winning three of his nine career starts, as well as scoring three second places, Victoire De Lyphar is now truly ready to take on the Ayr challenge. The gelding’s most recent win was achieved in the Reg Griffin Memorial Trophy at York on 15th June this year; however, Victoire De Lyphar has had a truly extraordinary year, placing second or better consistently throughout 2010.

Genki, from the stables of Roger Charlton, is a true veteran of the track. He the six-year-old gelding has started in 23 career races and has recorded six wins, five runner ups and two third places throughout his time as a professional runner. Genki is expected to enter the race under jockey Steve Drowne, who has been this contender regular rider this year. Genki’s most recent victory was achieved in the Bet365 Conditions Stakes at Haydock this July.

David Nicholls-trained Redford is another runner you might want to watch out for in the upcoming Ayr Gold Cup. The five-year-old has entered 21 races thus far, winning three and placing second and third once and thrice respectively. Nicholls only took on this new student in August this year and has been improving his performance on the track and in training steadily, giving Redford a real chance to make an impression in the Ayr Gold Cup.
