17.35 John Smith’s Champion Standard Open NH Flat Race

Moore & Moore, the father and son/trainer and jockey duo, have great reason to celebrate after Moore the younger rode winner Megastar at the Champion Standard Open Flat Race. A close race, only 1 ½ miles between Megastar and Hobbs-trained runner-up Dare Me, left Megastar’s connections exhilarated by their last minute Aintree win.

Barry Geraghty, who has performed spectacular throughout the Festival, was lost in the large field and came 17th out of twenty starters on Henderson-charge Tetlami. The last race of the Festival at Aintree brought home for the last time the fact that the Aintree races are amongst the most spectacular and competitive event of the racing calendar.

Distance: 2 miles, 1 furlong – Winning Time: 3:59.9
